First Day of School

Information on Arrival and Dismissal from Dr. Narrow:

Arrival: 8:55am

We welcome students to come to school as early as 8:55 am. Students arriving by district transportation will enter the building through Door #5. They will have the option to stop by the cafeteria to grab breakfast and, weather permitting, they will head to the playground for morning recess. Morning recess will last from 8:55 am until 9:25 am. Prior to 8:55 am, there is no adult supervision, so please be mindful and do not leave your child unattended.

If you are driving your child(ren) to school and you arrive before 9:25, please drop them off at the playground on Potomac or Hereford. If you arrive between 9:25 and 9:30 your child may enter through door 1 off Potomac. If you arrive after 9:30 you will need to bring your child into the building through door 1 and sign them in at the main office. 

Dismissal: 4:17 pm

• Please be sure that your child and their teacher are aware of how they are getting home. It may
be helpful to place this information on an index card in their backpack, along with your contact information and an emergency contact. You may also want to share this with teachers at the Party on the Playground. Any change to your child’s dismissal procedure should be emailed to their teacher, Ms. Jones (administrative assistant) and Dr. Narrow no later than 3:30 pm each day. This will ensure that students are getting home in the appropriate manner each day.
• District transportation will begin arriving at school around 3:45 pm. These vehicles will be parking in the big lot by the gym. Please do not park here between 3:45 and 4:45.
• We open doors for dismissal at 4:17 pm.
• All students (1st – 5th grade) who identify as parent pick-up will be dismissed from Door #9 by the playground. PK and KG students will be picked up from their classrooms by entering through door 2 which is just to the left of door 1 off Potomac.
• If you arrive after 4:30 pm, you will need to come in through door 1 to sign your child(ren) out at
the main office.
