Events

Building Tours: Amber Gray
(Ongoing) Give tours to prospective families.

First-Day Parent Coffee: Chair needed
(August) Plan and setup this event for families on the first day of school.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day: Cindy Ulmenstine-Fitzgerald
(September) Help organize school-wide morning event for grandparents and special friends.

Fall Festival: Tori Sacco
(October) Help organize the trunk-or-treat event.

Enrichment Night: Jen Paule
(January) Help plan the event and assist with activities the afternoon and evening of the event.

Movie Night: Tom Glauber
(January) Help plan school-wide movie showing in the school gym.

Dance:  Alex Stallings
(February) Help organize dance for parents and children.

Spring Book Fair: Chair needed (contact the Cindy Ulmenstine-Fitzgerald with questions or to volunteer)
(March) Organize and recruit volunteers to work the Scholastic book sale.

Field Day: Chair needed (contact the PTO VP with questions or to volunteer)
(May) Assist with school-wide outdoor games.

End-of-Year Family Social: Chair needed (contact the PTO VP with questions or to volunteer)
(May) Help plan a fun event for families to celebrate the end of the school year.

Fundraising

Annual Fund Drive: Jen Paule
Committee members plan our annual fund drive.

Class Fundraising Competition: Chair needed
Help collect Box Tops/Prairie Farms/Community Coffee/Coke labels for fundraising and organize semester classroom competitions based on the amount collected.

Standing Committees

Beautification and Outdoor Learning Garden: Matt Sellers and Jen Paule
Organize indoor and outdoor beautification projects of the school grounds and support teachers with maintaining the Outdoor Learning Garden. Our science teacher, Ms. Juracsik, is responsible for the school’s learning gardens year-round, but we’d like to have a parent volunteer to assist her.

Caring: Tracy Fantini Spies
Organize the holiday gift drive and other charitable efforts for students as needed.

Equity and Inclusion: Chair needed (contact the PTO VP with questions or to volunteer)
Help WCJA become a more diverse and inclusive environment.

New Families: Chair needed
Assist with open houses, summer play dates, and back-to-school event for families who are new to WCJA.

School Directory: Katy Arbuthnot
Organize and contact families to keep the school directory (Buzzbook) on Membership Toolkit up to date (mostly takes place at the start of the school year)

Spirit Wear: Tori Sacco and Cindy Ulmenstine-Fitzgerald
Help design and sell BWCJA spirit wear.

Teacher Appreciation: Kelly Sellers and Stacy Bruce
Help show our teachers some love with home-cooked meals on parent-teacher conference nights, goodies during Teacher Appreciation Week, and other opportunities throughout the year.

Yearbook: Jamie Spitznagel
Organize the production of the school’s yearbook including official yearbook photos, layout, ad sales, etc.
