Dear Betty Wheeler CJA Community,

We hope your school year is off to a wonderful start! At Betty Wheeler CJA, our students have the opportunity to learn, explore, create, and grow in a school designed to meet the unique needs of diverse learners. One of our PTO’s essential roles is to raise funds from our school community (and beyond) to help make that experience even richer through programs and activities.

Our PTO keeps fundraising simple and fun. Today, we are launching our Fall Raffle fundraiser – a way to support our students and also have the chance to win five exciting prizes. The funds we raise support our students, staff, and teachers directly. Historically, the PTO has sponsored core programs and activities that enrich students both in their classrooms and through extracurricular activities and events. 

This year, we are expanding our support in several important areas. Our approved PTO budget includes:

• Classroom enrichment, giving all teachers additional resources for their classrooms.
• Teacher Appreciation Week to recognize all those that make BWCJA special.
• Field trips and hands-on learning experiences for all students.
• The 5th grade class trip and the 5th grade musical.
• Field Day and other community experiences that bring BWCJA families together.
• Support for art, music, library, extracurricular activities, and other school-wide enrichment.

Our goal for the 2026-27 school year is to raise $47,500 to help sustain and expand these opportunities. We ask you to consider supporting the BWCJA PTO and our students by purchasing raffle tickets today. And please share the opportunity with Grandparents and Special Friends. The upcoming event on Friday September 25th, sponsored by the PTO, is one of our biggest days for the Fall Raffle!

In addition to the Fall Raffle, we are already preparing for our Winter Trivia Night fundraiser and are organizing several other community activities like a Mario Kart tournament and Parents Night Out, giving families several ways to participate in fundraising. 

If Raffles, Trivia Nights, and Mario Kart tournaments aren’t your speed (no pun intended), but you are able to contribute, please consider making a direct donation to the PTO. Whether you contribute $10, $50, $100, $500, or another amount that works for your family, every contribution helps us provide more opportunities for BWCJA students.
